Welcome
to the Sample Gallery!
You
may not know all the ways a photo can be changed: Have your kids scribbled
on your favorite photo of your mother? Or maybe that photo happened to
be right under the roof leak you recently discovered. And that great picture
of your grandparents that's been on top of the piano for 25 years: how
did it get so faded? Do you have a wonderful group photo that would be
even more wonderful with an absent person included (or maybe there's someone
you wish wasn't in it!)? Rips, wrinkles, stains, fading: all can be repaired.
Here
are some examples of common problems, and how they look after they are
restored.

Faded,
Torn and Oxidation
|
 |
 |
All photographs eventually fade; fading in
both black and white and color photos can be corrected.
This photo also had a torn area (upper right) and oxidation: a silvery
haze found in many antique photos.
Digital charge: 1 hour.

Faded
photos don't always become lighter; sometimes the entire picture
darkens. This photo also had missing and torn areas.

Stains are readily removed. This photo
gained new life once it was restored.

Computers are incredible - don't you agree?
Also, notice that I have adjusted the color, which had faded toward
overwhelming green tones.

This photo was originally a full color photo,
but the range of color was so reduced that the process of restoring
color was the same as for introducing color into a black and white
photo. I call this "colorizing" because the effect differs
from original full color.

Good
photos can often become great ones with better positioning of the
key figures. Parts of the background can be removed, or more background
can be generated. The picture as a whole is then more attractive,
balanced, and harmonious. This photo has been cropped, and my customer
wanted to delete the little boy in the foreground.

A background photograph of ice and bubbles
provided a great vehicle for placing many other photos, sized appropriately,
and blended. Actual wild rose leaves were scanned and blended. This
was a very complex piece with over 20 inset photos. The work was
used as the front of a holiday card.

Occasionally
very minor damage to a photo can be corrected for a lesser charge
(see order and shipping page). To qualify, the photo as a whole
must be in good condition, and the minor flaw being corrected should
not obscure large segments of a face. This is a charming antique
photo in overall good condition with only a small flaw.

charge: Minor Damage rate

To my customers
whose photographs are shown here: thank you so much for graciously allowing
me to share that work with others!
